November 26th and 27th, Western Financial Place, Cranbrook
Shelter for Ukrainians Society participated in the Cranbrook Farmer’s Market that took place in Western Financial Place on November 26th and 27th. At the Shelter for Ukrainians Society booth our volunteers and Ukrainian newcomers were introducing themselves to the local public and fundraising by selling t-shirts and flags.
The Cranbrook Farmer’s Market is much more than a place to shop! It’s a place to connect with the community, to celebrate culture and farming, and to stroll with no set agenda. We met a lot of wonderful people who were generous to support Ukrainian newcomers in Southeast Kootenay and with their help we were able to raise a total of $1105.25 ($605.25 in Donations and $500 from the sale of t-shirts and car flags). It was a great opportunity to immerse in the Kootenay lifestyle, enjoy locally made goods and of course meet local people who make this community so special. We thank everyone who made this wonderful event happen! We hope to see you next year! |
